Maple Grove Primary School’s Ofsted Inspection - Meeting the Standard Across the Board!

The Lion Academy Trust are delighted to share the latest Ofsted inspection report and outcomes following the section 5 inspection completed on 6th and 7th January 2026. Despite arriving so soon after the new year the team were proud to welcome the Ofsted team to Maple Grove. 

Based on the new inspection programme - schools are no longer given a single word outcome - but are graded against a RAG-rated dashboard of measures. There is no correlation between previous outcomes from inspections and the findings of this new framework. 

The inspection report shows that Maple Grove is meeting the expected standards of schools in England in all aspects of the school - from keeping children safe through to the quality of education, attendance, inclusion, governance and personal development. 

Justin James, Chief Executive Officer of the Lion Academy Trust said “We are delighted with the Ofsted report for Maple Grove, which again demonstrates how the team and the Trust have taken this school from strength to strength. The new framework is really clear in terms of how schools are evaluated and we hope parents and staff can be proud of what the inspection team have reported on.”

The report highlights the ambitious curriculum for all pupils, singled out the achievements of disadvantaged children and celebrated the high levels of attendance and the close working with families at the school. 

Simon Remmer, the Headteacher at Maple Grove added “We are relentless in striving to achieve strong outcomes for all our pupils. I am very proud of how the children conducted themselves throughout the inspection and the way they were able to speak so clearly and confidently about their learning journeys at the school. My thanks too to the whole staff team who continue to strive to make Maple Grove Primary School the local school of choice for the communities we serve.”
